Are you a U.S. citizen over the age of 18 and have not registered to vote? The deadline to vote in the Illinois Primary Elections is fast approaching. In fact, the last day to register is Tuesday, October 10, 2006. The election will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2006. Several hotly contested and exciting races are occurring this election, so don’t forget to register to vote!

Missed the deadline? Still want to vote?
There is a new law that allows you to register to vote even if you have missed the official deadline to register, you can still vote
You can register to vote at the Clerk's downtown Chicago office: 69 W. Washington St., Room 500. You must show two pieces of identification to register.
Grace-period voters must vote absentee. You can either vote in person at the Clerk's downtown office immediately after signing up to vote or receive an absentee ballot by mail that you must return by Election Day.
Grace-period registrants are not allowed to vote at the polls on Election Day and cannot vote at any early voting site.
