COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
CAIR-Chicago is now seeking a part-time Communications Coordinator with a focus on graphic design who will be responsible for meeting the communications needs of CAIR-Chicago. The Communications Department adds vital perspective to the public discourse, publishes in a variety of mediums, creates research reports and produces the latest in new-media including audio, video, graphic design, web design, blogs, and other multimedia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing graphic design, photography, layout, and other multimedia needs
Creating marketing materials such as posters, fliers, print newsletters, e-mail newsletters, and announcements; Upholding brand awareness and standards in all marketing materials
Researching and implementing the use of new technologies to enhance CAIR-Chicago's communications (as needed)
Managing the cairchicago.org website by regularly updating and creating original content
Effectively describing and promoting CAIR-Chicago's work
Ensuring all communications adheres to CAIR-Chicago's core values and mission
Facilitating the research and development of content for publication including annual reports
Coordinating original articles including letters to the editor and commentaries
Serving as a resource for news-media
Supervising interns to support communications department needs
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors or Masters degree in related fields or equivalent experience
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Superior analytical skills; creativity skills
Ability to work independently and with a team
Problem solver with strong attention to detail
Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work under deadline pressure
Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Microsoft Office proficiency. HTML, CSS, or content-management proficiency a plus. Willingness to learn required
Adept knowledge on CAIR-Chicago's area of work
COMPENSATION
Commensurate with experience.

YOUTH COORDINATOR
The Youth Coordinator is a part-time position that will work closely with the Outreach Coordinator to build and maintain the Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium (MYLS) program.

Plan and administer two symposiums annually
Facilitate post-symposium student project development
Secure funding through grants and donations

Experienced in event, preferably conference, planning
Organized and able to multi-task
Able to follow through the various on-going and newly assigned tasks and work well under pressure
Skilled in oral and written communications
Friendly, outgoing, and possessing leadership skills
GRANT COORDINATOR
The Grant Coordinator is a part-time position that will work with closely with the Outreach Coordinator and Executive Administration to successfully acquire government, organizational and foundation grants suitable for CAIR-Illinois.

Position Tasks Include:
Prepare grant applications and proposal presentations
Maintain sound knowledge and understanding CAIR-Illinois and its individual department projects
Research grant-making organizations and acquire sound knowledge and understanding of the funding organization’s mission, programs, target population and strategic vision
Compile, write and edit all grant applications; Conduct follow up communications with grant making organization during their review process in order to supply additional supportive material
Prepare and submit all quarterly and/or annual reports, as required by each grant-making organization for each funded program
Create marketing and communication tools for CAIR-Illinois, including direct mail pieces, newsletter and event scripting. Manage the editing process with graphic designer and the printing and mailing process with selected vendors
Qualifications:
Organized, able to multi-task and follow through various on-going and newly assigned tasks
Attentive to detail and skilled in oral and written communication as well as problem-solving
