CAIR-Chicago, ICIRR, CIOGC, JCUA, ADC, AAAN deliver 800 cards to Kirk

The Chicago chapter of the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) joined the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) and several other groups in downtown press conference Tuesday to discuss action against Congressman Mark Kirk's recent nod to discrimination against Arabs. The morning conference which was well attended by the local media was followed by an afternoon visit to Congressman Kirk's office in which 800 signed cards requesting an apology and a meeting were delivered.
Organizations in attendance with CAIR-Chicago, ICIRR, and CIOGC were the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA), The American Arab Anti-discrimination Committee (ADC), the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), Rabbi Serrota of the Lakeside Jewish Congregation - Highland Park, and State Representative Elaine Nekritz as well as various constituents of the 10th district.
