CAIR-Chicago Joins Jewish Community in Passover Seder
April 07, 2006
CAIR-Chicago’s Executive Director Ahmed Rehab, and Operations Coordinator Sabah Ahmed joined 200 members of the Jewish community and friends in a Passover Seder ritual at the downtown Spertus Institute last Thursday. The event organized by the Jewish Council of Urban Affairs with the theme of championing Immigrant Justice Freedom contained many symbolic references to universal human ideals and contemporary pressing causes. “This was my first Seder and I thoroughly enjoyed it,” said Ahmed Rehab, “I thought the ritual to be an intelligent exercise that offers Jews the opportunity to memorialize their ancestral plight while raising awareness for modern day suffering and tribulation.” The Seder ritual is observed during the Jewish holiday of Passover.
