EVENT ALERT: Corporate Research Training to Amplify Grassroots Organizing

In the aftermath of the SCOTUS travel ban ruling, Muslims and their allies are looking for strategic ways to fight back and actually win something meaningful for their families and communities.

One way is taking on corporations: it's obvious that it's insufficient to only focus on the elected officials who have already decided that their bigotry actually helps them with their base. Now, more than ever, communities should learn how certain corporations are fully engrossed in funding or promoting Islamophobia.

On Saturday, August 25, from 11AM-3PM in the CAIR-Chicago office (17 N State St., Suite 1500), take part in a free capacity building training for organizers, activists, and organization leaders that looks at tactics in corporate research in order to identify campaign targets that can lead to structural change.

Key Goals:

  • Participants leave understanding what power research is and the role it can play in campaigns/movements
  • Participants learn something new about the relationship between corporations and Islamophobia and policing (and consider what what that means for their organizing)
  • Participants become familiar with online research tools that they can use in the context of our project or their own organizing
  • Participants gain skills from a corporation research lens to strengthen campaigns, and our movements.

This training is brought to you by the Action Center on Race and the Economy (ACRE), LittleSis, and CAIR-Chicago.
