Election Action Plan: Week 9
There are only 18 days left until the General Election on November 3rd, 2020! Make sure you're prepared. Here's our Week 9 Action Plan for voters.
During this election cycle, the elderly, some of the most at-risk population, is encouraged to stay home. Unfortunately, that also means that many polling places will be short poll workers on election day.
If you're comfortable, sign up to be a poll worker this election cycle!
Make sure you have a plan this election cycle! Write down your voting agenda!
The deadline to register to vote in the General Election in Illinois is October 18th, 2020. Are you registered to vote? If you're unsure, you can check your voter registration status checking the State Board of Election's website.
Not registered? You can apply to register online by clicking this link.
Early voting in Illinois officially started on September 24th!
If you're voting in-person, Election Day polling hours are from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Find your polling place here.
In Illinois, any voter can opt to vote by mail. The deadline for ballot requests to be received by your local election office is Thursday, October 29th, 2020, five days before Election Day.
Currently, USPS is predicting delays in mail delivery, so we at CAIR-Chicago suggest sending in your mail-in ballots no later than Friday, October 23rd. This means you need to request your ballot ASAP if you want to vote by mail.
Help find solidarity in voting this election cycle and participate in a voting rally!
Please join CAIR-Chicago, the IL Muslim Civic Coalition, partner orgs, community & elected leaders at a virtual Voter Rally Today, October 16th at 6 PM CST!
Check out a voter rally for the whole family - comedian, singers, swag, and elected officials including Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib & Jan Schakowsky, along many others will be there!
