CAIR-Chicago Mourns Loss of Life at Pittsburgh Synagogue
CAIR-Chicago was shocked this weekend to find out about the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We express our utmost grief with our Jewish brothers and sisters who are in mourning in the face of this tragedy.
Yesterday, Chicago descended on Federal Plaza at Candlelight Vigil for Tree of Life Synagogue to honor the lives of those lost in Pittsburgh and Jeffersontown. CAIR-Chicago was honored to co-sponsor and stand in solidarity our community partners and our brothers and sisters of all faiths. As we reflect upon the increasing hate that surrounds us, we are reminded of the stories that taint our past and the shared heritage of hate and discrimination that we’ve all experienced. But, we are encouraged to stand united and fight for a better tomorrow. That is our commitment.
