CAIR-Chicago Calls On Community to Pack the Court for BOUNDAOUI vs. FBI
Nearly three years into her legal battle with the FBI, filmmaker Assia Boundaoui's case has reached a monumental juncture.
The case began in Boundaoui's 2018 documentary, The Feeling of Being Watched, which follows the investigation of rumors of surveillance in Boundaoui's Arab-American neighborhood of Chicago, where she uncovers one of the largest FBI terrorism proves conducted before 9/11 and reveals its enduring impact on the community.
This week Federal Judge Durkin has made an unprecedented ruling and ordered FBI agents to appear in court to answer questions under oath about records related to the decades long surveillance of my Muslim community in Bridgeview. The FBI has also admitted to having an additional 40,000 documents about the surveillance of my community in the 2000's. This is an incredible legal milestone in Assia's case and she need your help PACKING the court in Chicago this week!
We invite the community to come show your support this: WEDNESDAY January 22 @ 9:30 AM (please plan to arrive by 9), Dirksen Federal Building (219 S. Dearborn) Room 1441.
**I.D. is required for admittance to the courthouse
