There are only 39 days left until the General Election on November 3rd, 2020! Make sure you're prepared. Here's our Week 6 Action Plan for voters.
The deadline to register to vote in the General Election in Illinois is October 18th, 2020. Are you registered to vote? If you're unsure, you can check your voter registration status checking the State Board of Election's website.
Not registered? You can apply to register online by clicking this link.
Early voting in Illinois officially started on September 24th!
If you're voting in-person, Election Day polling hours are from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Find your polling place here.
In Illinois, any voter can opt to vote by mail. The deadline for ballot requests to be received by your local election office is Thursday, October 29th, 2020, five days before Election Day.
Currently, USPS is predicting delays in mail delivery, so we at CAIR-Chicago suggest sending in your mail-in ballots no later than Friday, October 23rd. This means you need to request your ballot ASAP if you want to vote by mail.

There are only 5 days remaining to fill out the 2020 Census! Make sure you count this year!
Filling out the census directly impacts which monetary resources are invested into certain communities regarding schools, community development, infrastructure, and many other assets! By filling out the census, you're providing the government with information for them to best serve your neighborhood.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced in the wake of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death that Senate will take the floor to vote on a new justice before the election.
Help fight it by texting 'RBG' to 50409. You'll be taken to a letter to your congressional representatives demanding a delay in voting for Supreme Court nominations until after the election. After you sign, it will be sent to your legislators' inboxes.
Don't want to text? That's fine. You can also send 'USPS' to Resistbot on Twitter, Facebook Messenger, and iMessage.
That's it for Week 6! Keep an eye out for more info next week, when we will update our Action Plan!
