My Rights My Life Event

CAIR-Chicago and ACLU-Illinois have partnered up to showcase the importance of knowing your rights as a community member.

EVENT DETAILS

The 'My Rights My Life' event aims to teach people about their rights and how to practice them in dealing with the police.

About The Event

Information Sessions: CAIR-Chicago and ACLU-Illinois will host "Know Your Rights" information sessions to explain your legal rights if you are stopped by the police or if you need to call the police in an emergency. This is your opportunity to learn about your rights and how to practice them in your daily life.

"Exercise Your Rights!" Art Station: Create protest posters that help express your thoughts about policing in America. We will provide the public with tools to help make their own masterpieces. The theme is "If you were to go out and demonstrate right now, what would your poster say?"

Pledge Station: CAIR-Chicago and ACLU-Illinois want to encourage all attendees to spread the information they learned from the educational sessions provided by the organizations. This is our chance to regain our rights as community members, and spread the knowledge we have. Take this opportunity to show your support!

Photo Station: Capture your moment of trying to rewrite the narrative in combating police brutality.

Light food and refreshments will be served.

We look forward to seeing you there! #MyRightsMyLife
