WGN-TV: Lincoln Square martial arts studio hit by vandals twice in 2 months; CAIR calls on CPD to investigate as hate crime

CHICAGO — Surveillance video captured a gunman shooting out a window at a martial arts studio on the city’s North Side.
This is the second time that Redzovic Jiu Jitsu, located at 4900 North Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square, has been targeted by vandals in the last two months.
The studio’s owner, Eddie Redzovic, is a well-known YouTuber on The Deen Show where he frequently talks about his Muslim faith.
Security video from 9 p.m. Saturday captures a black minivan, possibly a Kia Sedona, drive past the training center on Lincoln and Ainsley and someone inside fires shots — shattering one of the windows.
The center tells WGN News this is the second time that this has happened. The first time was on July 9.
The Center for American Islamic Relations, or CAIR, is calling on the Chicago Police Department to investigate this latest incident, and another nearby, as possible hate crimes.
“It’s really concerning to us because we just got a case from the Muslim Community Center, about a 10 minute drive from here, that something very similar happened to them a few days ago...We’re very suspicious of this, that perhaps this could be the same person.”
