CAIR-Chicago Represents Muslim Citizenship Delay Client in Update Interview

CAIR-Chicago Staff Attorney Bitta Mostofi represented a Muslim man experiencing a citizenship delay in an update interview with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The man passed his citizenship interview and civics exam in February of 2005 but has continued to be put on hold. CAIR-Chicago filed a federal complaint in district court on behalf of the man and he was naturalized shortly thereafter. CAIR-Chicago continues to represent Muslims experiencing unnecessary delays in obtaining citizenship.
