Gov. Affairs Coordinator Reema Ahmad Signs Letter Asking President Obama for Immigration Reform
CAIR-Chicago’s Government Affairs Coordinator, Reema Ahmad, along with over 1,200 Pro-Immigrant groups, issued a letter to President Barack Obama this month requesting that he enact immigration policy reforms. The letter addresses the abuses that have been committed by the Department of Homeland Security against immigrants during the past 8 years. According to Ahmad, the goal for this letter is to “bring the country together to emphasize everyone’s rights.” CAIR hopes that immigration reform will be one of the pressing issues President Obama addresses within the first one-hundred days of his administration.
