Volunteer With CAIR-Chicago During Ramadan

Every year, CAIR-Chicago embarks on several fundraising efforts during Ramadan. CAIR-Chicago is dependent on community for support and outreach to local mosques is one of our important fundraising efforts. We Need You! Ramadan fundraising is primarily held during salat ul' taraweeh prayers, usually held around 10 PM for an hour or two.

What to Expect...and Your Role There will be a break during the prayers where Executive Director Ahmed Rehab or another CAIR-Chicago representative, addresses the congregation. They will talk about what CAIR-Chicago has done for the community and why we need their support.

During the break and after prayer volunteers will hand out pens and pledge forms, then collect them for our representative to return to our office.

Both male and female volunteers are needed. Everyone should dress modestly, with women being sure to cover their hair, arms, and wear pants or long dresses that extend to their ankles.

WE NEED YOU NOW! The following are the dates with the mosques and their locations where CAIR-Chicago will need volunteers:

  • Saturday, July 4: Muslim Education & Community Center of America (MECCA), Willowbrook
  • Tuesday, July 7: Islamic Community Center of Illinois (ICCI), Belmont-Cragin, Chicago

Please contact Sufyan Sohel at ssohel@cair.com by this Wednesday, July 1 at 5 PM what dates and locations you'll be able to volunteer.

We truly appreciate your consideration in advance!
