BREAKING NEWS: Trump Admin Reverses Mass Student Visa Terminations Following Legal and Community Pushback

BREAKING NEWS:

The Trump administration has announced it will reverse the sudden and sweeping terminations of international student visas—a move that left hundreds in limbo across the country. The reversal follows mounting legal and public pressure, including several Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs) recently granted in federal courts.

In Illinois, CAIR-Chicago volunteered and collaborated in coalitionary efforts, including the case brought forth by @naserimmigrationlaw , where eight Illinois-based plaintiffs were granted a TRO in a significant legal victory earlier this week. This legal victory protected the students from deportation and restored their visa status—at least for now.

Momentum is building. Policy change may be on the horizon.

Stay tuned for more updates from CAIR-Chicago.
