PRESS STATEMENT: CAIR-Chicago to Hold SOLD OUT Gala on Sunday, October 27th, 2024

(CHICAGO, IL, 10/23/2024) – The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today announced that its 2024 Annual Gala, marking its 20th anniversary, held at Drury Lane in Oak Brook Terrace this Sunday, is expected to sell out.

The annual gathering of Chicago's Muslim communities and allies is one of the largest organizational grassroots event in the city and brings a wide diversity of Chicago's Muslim corners by race, age, ethnicity, and profession, and over 70 letters of recognitions from elected officials.

WHAT: CAIR-Chicago’s Annual Gala – 2024, "Momentum: 20 Years of Service".

WHEN: Reception at 5:00 p.m., Dinner at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024. 

WHERE: Drury Lane, 100 Drury Ln, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181  

WHO: 1,000 Muslim community members, allies, elected officials, and guests.  

MEDIA: Media allowed with press pass at registration.

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY: Executive Director, Ahmed Rehab, available for 1-on-1 interviews, morning shows, studio interviews this week on occasion of twenty years of civil rights work in the city of Chicago.

NOTE: A ‘Run of Show’ will be sent to media the day before the event.

This event takes place amid an alarming rise in hostility toward the Muslim community, marked by a surge in hate crimes and intimidation linked to recent developments in the Middle East.

In a statement, CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab said: 

"Over the 20 years we have been in operation, we have worked hard to offer valuable pro-bono legal professional services, tell our own story, challenge media narratives, and build power and access to key tables in politics, media, business & education. We're looking forward to 20 more years of continuing to serve and defend our Muslim American community".
