State Department Responds to Lawsuits Filed for Stranded U.S. Citizens' Family Members in Gaza

In response to lawsuits filed on behalf of stranded U.S. citizens’ family members in Gaza, the State Department continues to claim that ensuring American safety is a "top priority." Yet, Americans of Palestinian origin have been unable to evacuate for months.

During a December 19, 2024, briefing, State Department Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel addressed the situation, highlighting “creative avenues” like charter flights and land routes to assist citizens. Why, then, have these solutions failed to materialize for those in Gaza?
