CAIR-Chicago attends DePaul UMMA Fast-A-Thon
DePaul University's Muslim Student Association, United Muslims Moving Ahead (UMMA) held their annual Fast-A-Thon on Friday, February 7th. UMMA encouraged participants to abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset as they raise money for Bridging the Gap.

Cherif Bassiouni, distinguished research professor at DePaul University and CAIR-Chicago's Honorary Chairman, will be speaking at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs about his book "The Institutionalization of Torture by the Bush Administration. Is Anyone Responsible?" Bassiouni will hold a small presentation along with a discussion afterward.
Christina Abraham Meets with AAUW to Discuss Women In Islam
The AAUW put together the conference at DePaul University in order to achieve more knowledge on the role of women in Islam. The presentation, which drew around thirty audience members, allowed Abraham to bring up present day issues and misconceptions regarding Muslim women.
DePaul Class Visits CAIR-Chicago Office
A group of 25 DePaul students and staff visited the CAIR-Chicago office last month to learn about the organization’s civil rights activism on behalf of immigrants. The students were part of a class that focuses on young people from diverse cultural backgrounds and teaches about the realities of life for immigrant youth and the organizations that facilitate and incorporate them into Chicago’s wider community.
