CAIR-Chicago, along with several other organizations co-sponsored a civic engagement workshop entitled, “Empowering Ourselves: Strengthening Our South Asian Voice”

After mass demonstrations by the immigrant and minority communities, the Senate passed its version of immigration reform legislation. The final vote, 62-36, came after several months of heated debate from both sides.

On Saturday, April 1, 2006, CAIR-Chicago volunteers and interns participated in the first of a two part workshop series on 501(c)3 guidelines which took place at the Indo-American Center located in Chicago.
