With goals of mobilizing 45,000 people to come to the polls on November 7, 5,000 people in the weeks prior to Election Day, and 15,000 new voter registrations additions in the state of Illinois, CAIR-Chicago, along with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and other host organizations, has launched an electoral summer campaign.

Abstract: With the fight for immigration reform heating up, ICIRR, CAIR-Chicago and other member organizations are working this summer to build a strong presence at the election polls for November. The New Americans Democracy Project kickoff will be held July 1 to celebrate new citizens, register eligible voters, as well as to help eligible permanent residents file for citizenship.
