(CHICAGO, IL, 12/15/12) – The Chicago office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) commends the Illinois House of Representatives for adopting House Resolution 1193 (HR 1193), which addresses violent attacks on Muslim, South Asian, and Sikh Americans, as well as other minorities, and denounces hate crimes and hateful political rhetoric.

CAIR-Chicago is hosting a public viewing of a Senate hate crimes hearing chaired by Senator Dick Durbin on Wednesday, September 19th at 1pm at the CAIR-Chicago offices.

Today, the City Council of Chicago approved a resolution drafted by Alderman Ameya Pawar of the 47th ward that condemns attacks of violence and hate against minority community and helps initiate measures to promote tolerance.
