Heena Musabji
Heena Musabji is the Legal Director at CAIR-Chicago. She leads the civil rights legal team to seek justice for those who face religious discrimination. Heena is co-founder of Pro Bono Network (PBN), a legal aid nonprofit organization that brings attorneys to those in dire need of civil legal assistance. Her leadership and vision are key reasons for PBN’s growth. Previously, Heena was the principal attorney at Musabji Law Offices focusing on civil rights and immigration and nationality law. Prior she was a partner at Amal Law Group leading the immigration department. Heena was CAIR-Chicago’s first staff attorney counseling its constituency on civil rights and immigration. During and after law school, Heena served as director of the Sex Trafficking Opposition and Prevention Project with the International Human Rights Institute where she worked on legislation and advocacy for minors forced into the sex tourism industry in Costa Rica. She worked with the National Immigrant Justice Center throughout law school and continues with the organization as a volunteer. She serves on the School District 181 Foundation board, the board of Unity Academy of Chicago, and her mosque. Heena has a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law with a certificate in international comparative law, and a B.S. in finance from Siena College. She can be reached at hmusabji@cair.com .
